Description

The RAM-283-2U is a Drill Down vehicle pedestal mount system that install with minor drilling and bolting and offers a very strong mobile mounting solution.

NOTE: The base requires bolting to a flat and level vehicle floor surface (floor mounting hardware not included). If the floor surface is flat but at an angle (i.e. transmission hump) this mount WILL NOT WORK).

NOTE: The laptop tray is OPTIONAL with the RAM-283-2U and can be added from the MISC Options above. The RAM-234-3 Tough Tray will accommodate up to 17 inch screen laptops. The RAM-234-6 Tough Tray II will fit most netbooks. See below for additional information.


RAM-283-2U Included Features:

• Warranty: Manufacturer's, RAM Mounts (National Products Inc.), Limited Life Time Warranty.

• RAM-283-2U Description: This mobile perpendicular fixed mount base with telescoping column and dual swing arm provides a fully adjustable and secure mobile work pedestal for laptops and other mobile equipment. The pedestal installs by attaching the 5 inch X 5 inch fixed base to any secure flat and level floor surface. The assembly is easily removed from the base with the turn of the pedestal release controls. This pedestal mount is fully adjustable to accommodate several mobile workstations and is very strong.
  
  • Telescoping Height: From the base, the pedestal column will provide elevation from 18 inches to 24 inches.
  • Swing Arm Extension: 12 inches of horizontal extension. A mobile device can attach directly to the 2.5 inch diameter base mount or optional laptop tray or device platforms (see options below).

• Mounting Plate: RAM-202U is a marine grade aluminum 2.5 inch diameter plate with 1.5 inch diameter RAM C sized ball. The mounting plate has pre-drilled holes including the popular AMPS hole pattern. The RAM-202U is also used to attach to the optional RAM Tough Trays (shown below).
  




• Articulating Swing Arms: The RAM-261U 6 inch swing arm and RAM-261-1U 6 inch swing arm with pipe connection arm are both included. The black powder coated steel dual swing arms provide 12 inches of total horizontal extension when attached together.
  
  • RAM-261U Description: The 6 inch extended swing arm has an open end that attaches to RAM C Sized Ball Accessories (included RAM-202U). The other end features a hand-tightening clamp to the RAM-261-1U swing arm. The overall length is 8 inches long and approximately 3 inches tall at the tallest point. A conduit is provided on top of socket clamp to run wires through.

• RAM-261-1U Description: The .5 inch diameter * 2.5 inch pedestal column attaches to the RAM-261U swing arm. The other end attaches to the RAM-290U telescoping pole. The overall length is 8 inches by 4.5 inches high at the highest point on the shaft end. The other shaft end is 2.5 inches high. The mid-arm section is 1.25 inches tall by .75 inches thick. The swing arm allows easy hand tightening and is very strong.

Telescoping Pole Description: The RAM-290U has a 18 to 24 inch telescoping pedestal column that attaches to the RAM-283U vehicle base (included) and RAM-261-1U swing arm (included). The holding shaft is 10 inches tall and has a 1.5 inch diameter width. The pipe is 18 inches tall and sits in the holding shaft. Two easy hand tightening arms are located on the holding shaft. This allows a telescoping range of +/- 6 inches resulting in a total height adjustment of 18 to 24 inches. The pipe may be cut to reduce height.

Vehicle Base Description: The RAM-283U vehicle base is a 5 inch square black powder coated base plate that consists of a 9/16 inch diameter 4 inch high post at a 90 degree angle. The post is designed for connecting to the RAM-290 pedestal (included) to. Four pre-drilled holes at each corner (mounting hardware IS NOT INCLUDED).

RAM-283-2U Optional Equipment:

Optional Tough Tray: RAM-234-3 Laptop "Tough Tray" high strength composite spring loaded expandable tray. Accommodates laptops from 10-16 inches wide (screen sizes up to 17 inches). The tray includes 4 side clamping fingers with rubber grips. The fingers are fully adjustable and can be moved both vertically and horizontally.

• NOTE: RAM Mounts recommends the RAM-234-SNMU Secure-n-Motion kit if the laptop mount is intended to hold an electronic device while the vehicle is in motion.
